My laptop battery seems to be having problems. After charging, it restarts, locks itself, and the battery light turns red. It won’t turn on unless I plug it back in. When I connect it to charge, the percentage drops to zero. Sometimes, if I restart it while it’s charging, it shows full charge. My model is an ASUS Zephyrus G15. I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.

This seems to be related to a BMS fault. Earlier, my two laptops would charge and then shut down unexpectedly, often at odd percentages—sometimes a prime number. Then they’d restart once connected. On another device, the battery would drain completely when it dropped below 40°F (5°C), only recovering when plugged in, with readings jumping to around 41% or higher.

Is there an easy fix? or do I just need to bring my charger everywhere I go?

I swapped the battery in the laptop because the BMS charge sensor was damaged. A fresh battery fixed everything. My phone: I attempted to avoid the cold whenever possible.
