i discussed this topic yesterday on the forum, so i figured out what operating system should be installed on my laptop. i decided to install linux mint. after installing it, i restarted the computer and was greeted with the boot screen for linux. however, linux didn't launch properly; windows reopened and displayed a blue error message saying it would restart automatically. the auto-correct function failed, and it recommended formatting the pc. i agreed and let it format, but the process stopped abruptly after a warning that the format could continue. windows remained corrupted, and the same screen appeared repeatedly around ten times. eventually, i chose to boot from my usb drive, which had windows installed. in bios, i selected the usb flash drive and tried to boot, but it only showed a blank screen with no progress. i entered nothing and restarted again using the same usb drive. the screen returned briefly to the windows logo before fading away completely. what should i do next?

You realize you didn’t set up Mint correctly. You messed up the Windows setup you had there. If you create a Mint USB drive on another machine, you can reinstall Mint. If you no longer want Windows (it’s already corrupted), you can delete those partitions too. Just follow the instructions. Also, you mentioned yesterday that you weren’t 60 years old and it wasn’t a difficult process.

I understand, I won't disrupt any other Windows device.

You change the device from the PC at the 4-minute mark, inserting the USB flash drive you crafted into your notebook that was damaged.

Yes, you can create a bootable USB, but I understand your concern.

From errors you gain insight, yet always aim to correct them.

Identical to that, you generate a bootable Windows USB and apply your files. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...tion-media
