Hello. Your Acer Aspire E14 (E5-474G-50UT) has an 8GB DDR3 RAM, an i5 6200U processor, and a 1TB HDD running Windows 10 Home. I attempted to install a 4GB DDR3 stick yesterday as per the instructions. After experiencing boot issues and artifacts on the screen, the system would crash after startup. I removed the stick, performed a startup repair, and then replaced the remaining RAM. I also cleaned the laptop thoroughly, removing dust from both openings. The problem seemed to appear more clearly with noticeable black screen patterns. After replacing the HDD with a SATA SSD temporarily, it worked, but I still have a spare HDD for testing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Consider restarting your device if it won't power on. https://community.acer.com/en/kb/article...r-notebook

Upgrading the RAM on this laptop requires more than just taking off the bottom cover or a small service panel. The process mainly demands taking out the entire motherboard from its case. Ensure every tiny wire and ribbon cable is properly reconnected. Also, verify that the cooling fan is reassembled and positioned correctly, otherwise the CPU or iGPU may overheat.

I completed everything, but it still won't start. The power indicator also remains off.
