Hi! Yesterday I attempted a clean installation on my MSI BRAVO C7VE laptop. The problem is it has trouble booting from the USB, even though I adjusted all BIOS settings (Secure boot off, Fast boot off). Initially, I used a drive created via the Media Creation tool, which worked fine. I didn’t notice much during the first few restarts, thinking it was normal. Once it entered setup, I followed the steps, formatted the C partition (intended to preserve my other data on the same SSD), and it restarted again after a few more attempts. By morning, the issue continued. I tried an EC reset and updated the BIOS, but nothing helped. Later, I used a thumb drive with Medicat installed to check for data loss; it worked as expected. However, the device restarted on its own and became unusable. I found a boot repair tool in Medicat and attempted it, but it caused another reboot and bricked the USB. I’m now considering making a custom Win11 boot drive using Rufus with GPT and UEFI settings, following recommendations. Still, the behavior hasn’t changed. The SSD and RAM seem fine, and I don’t think temperature is the issue. Anyone else have experienced this? I also have a video of it—I might share it in the discussion.
What caused you to think about reinstalling? It seems the machine had hardware problems.
It seems the issue might persist even with the latest Win10 version. Consider installing Windows on the SSD separately and reinstalling it, hoping for improvement. Other suggestions could include checking system updates or running a disk cleanup.
I plan to try in the morning and will share the outcomes later. Thanks!
