The laptop screen remains black—could there be a problem with the operating system?
Hello, Your laptop has been running nonstop all day. I took a break and now the display remains black. The secondary screen is working fine, but your main screen is completely dark and you can't see the mouse cursor either. I'm worried about restarting because I don't want to lose access to the lock screen or fear the secondary display might stop functioning. Are there any steps I should follow before turning it off? What could you try first? I attempted the Win+Ctrl+Shift+B shortcut, which didn't help, and checked the project options (they're set to extend). It seems like this issue is related to Windows. Additional details: Laptop model Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro, running Windows 11 version 2025-01, installed on February 6th.
There isn’t much crucial information available. I only have a few photos and documents, which I’ve saved. For my studies, I mainly rely on the laptop at university and use the S-Pen for taking notes. Everything seems secure. I need to prepare for an exam next week, so this timing is really challenging.
I discovered an unusual solution. Activating HDR in Windows settings makes my screen light up, but the colors seem muted. Since I use an AMOLED display, they usually look vivid, now they appear washed out. Previously, disabling HDR caused issues with Samsung’s native HDR configurations in the settings. Also, turning it off again leads to the same color problems.
