The laptop keyboard has stopped functioning properly.
today in class I considered loading APKs onto my laptop (Gigabyte G5 i5 11th gen 3050TI, BIOS v. fb09). I searched online and found a tutorial video. Initially, he instructed me to use the search bar for "windows features" and then navigate to VMP (Virtual Machine Platform). After enabling it and clicking OK, the system loaded briefly before prompting a restart. Once restarted, I realized my keyboard wasn’t responding. I attempted driver updates, removed drivers, restarted again, and accessed the blue screen menu—trying to revert recent features, undoing the latest Windows update, and entering safe mode. Still nothing resolved. Normally I handle minor laptop issues by troubleshooting, but this is more serious. Tomorrow I have an English exam on my laptop, so I’m worried about the situation. The arrow keys and numpad worked in BIOS during the blue screen, but everything else remains unresponsive. When I power off and back on, the keyboard lights up until the Gigabyte logo disappears and Windows loads. It seems like a software glitch; a full reset might help, though I’d prefer not to lose admin-restricted apps. Could anyone suggest a way to restore keyboard functionality without resetting the system? Thanks in advance! P.S. I tried typing this on the on-screen keyboard for anyone curious.
Press Windows key + I to open Settings. Select Update & Security. Choose Troubleshoot. Go to Keyboard. Run the troubleshooter. If these steps don’t help, consider resetting your laptop or reaching out to Gigabyte support for more help. Good luck with your exam tomorrow!
