My laptop, Asus Vivobook 14 M413I, keeps experiencing BSODs unexpectedly. After crashes, I checked the Event Viewer and discovered a critical event always following an error. Online searches for solutions came up empty—scans, health checks didn’t help. I ran HWinfo64 to look for other problems and found my CPU temperature spikes to 94.8°C occasionally. I set alarms when it hits 90°C, and it tends to cross that mark regularly, sometimes staying near it, other times dropping to around 57°C. Since it's out of warranty and I don’t have much service center experience, I’m trying to fix it myself unless a major part fails. My concern is whether the CPU hits 95°C and causes shutdown, or if Windows isn’t throttling it properly. Also, Thermal Throttling (PROCHOT EX) is enabled. I’ve attached all relevant images.

Even with full CPU usage in the ml script, temperatures remained manageable. However, while downloading files, I experienced repeated warnings of temperatures exceeding 90°C. That’s a bit concerning.

Visit C:\Windows\Minidump to see if any minidump files exist. If present, return to the Windows directory and transfer the entire Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if needed). Compress the copied folder and include it in a post. Please adhere strictly to instructions since Windows doesn't allow file manipulation there.

I don't have a minidump at the place you referred to. Are you using Windows 11?

Sorry, I didn't catch the volmgr error. It came from the inability to generate a dump file. Do you recall the crash message? When creating dumps fails, storage capacity is likely the issue. The problem could provide more details. Other reasons for this failure: insufficient space to produce the dump. All initial files are full kernel dumps, potentially reaching up to your RAM plus 3-4GB. I've encountered 67GB dumps on a system with 64GB RAM; they're then reduced to minidumps if enabled. The page file is too small. If set to System Managed size, it should grow automatically, but with manual sizing, large dumps are necessary. The page file handles all data storage. Drive encryption prevents Windows from accessing encrypted drives during the dump process.

My C drive has limited space left. My computer runs with just 8GB of memory. 2. The page file is managed by the operating system. 3. Hmm, why is this occurring suddenly? I've owned this machine for about three years already. Also, are the temperatures normal? It keeps getting very hot, often above 90°C.

Do you recall the crash messages? A temperature of 90°C is typical for the CPU or GPU in a laptop, but it’s not ideal for the SSD. You should verify the SSD’s temperature.

The crash issues consistently occur with the vlogmr models. They appear immediately following a BSOD. These are the readings from my SSD when it's under stress.
