Last week we purchased a new Netgear router, and after setting everything up, I connected my laptop. It shows limited connection, sometimes it works but then drops back within ten to fifteen minutes. I changed the DNS settings to automatic and tried running "ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew netsh winsock reset" from the command prompt as an administrator, but that didn’t help. I’m not sure of any other solution. The router model is Netgear, the model is R6250, my laptop is Toshiba C55D-A5392, and it’s running Windows 8.1.
