Today I tried using my laptop and heard some strange sounds from the fan. It seems these noises appear only when the bottom part is securely fastened. I've replaced the fan assembly once before because it kept failing, but now it's working fine. Here are the details: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen (20QD0000US) with Intel Core i7-8565U, 16GB RAM, 2133MHz, LPDDR3 memory from Western Digital SN720, BIOS version N2HET73W. First video shows no problem without the bottom part: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Vkmq3SgDLQiJgRjk6 Second video shows issues when the bottom is attached and secured: https://photos.app.goo.gl/HYGyNXhFVtSPcdny7

It's clear you're pointing out something wrong. You should avoid putting the lower part of the laptop into the fan while it spins; that won't cause any issues.

It does it on its own. I just made it a little louder for effect.

Check if it’s correctly positioned following the final fix. It’s simple to adjust alignment, or add a cable since there isn’t enough room.

It's likely true. I hadn't used the laptop with the new fan until today, even though it hadn't been opened before installation.

I've fixed numerous laptops, making it simple to find a cable on the incorrect side of a tab—this can easily cause the space you need to disappear.

Sure, I'll wait to see if a cable is obstructing it. Appreciate the guidance!

It looks like a key component from the keyboard came loose and entered the fan. Reinserting it resolved the problem.
