The laptop fan is pleading for assistance due to overheating.
The ASUS TUF gaming laptop has performed well over the years, except for occasional battery life concerns a few months back. Recently, the fans began making noise and then clicking, getting progressively worse. I’ve tried cleaning them by opening the fans and using Clorox wipes, but the left fan still hasn’t improved. Here are some videos showing the fan noise while running apps. Please help with IMG_6645.mov.
Never used Clorox for cleaning inside a PC or laptop before; I wasn't aware of that method. Apart from air, the only cleaning agent I've heard about is denatured alcohol. Regarding the fan, given the machine's age, it probably has worn out significantly. It's likely the lubricant inside has dried up. You might want to replace the fan, or at least lubricate it with something like WD-40. Apply it to a Q-tip and wipe the motor, or use white lithium grease for better results. The best option is to replace the fan entirely. Stay safe and good luck!
It seems you think no damage was done, but it looks like the fans are nearing the end of their life and will need replacement. The bearings likely need attention.
