I turned on my laptop and it made a loud screeching sound. It looked like the fans were hitting the metal inside the box. Worried, I forced a shutdown. When I restarted, there was very little air coming from the holes, and only one of the two fans was working. I don't know which fan is for the CPU and which is for the graphics card. I started running Cinebench R15 and cpu-z to make the computer work harder, but the heat got very high just by touching it. The fans didn't speed up at all, not even a little bit, and the dead one wasn't moving. I tried opening a game to test if the other fan is only for the graphics card stress tests but that didn't help. What do I do? Should I open the box and clean the holes or do I need to buy new fans? Here is what my computer looks like: 2 years old Acer Aspire 7 (model A715-75G) with an i5 9300H CPU, a GTX 1650 graphics card.

Are you sure this laptop is older than two years? The warranty lasts two years, so if it's under that age, you might still be able to return it for a replacement. You can find out how to do this by opening the laptop here: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion...laptop-fan

Thanks for getting back with me! I am pretty sure this laptop is older than two years. I bought it in late 2020. The sticker says the computer came out on July 14th, 2020. So I guess I'll have to open it up to check.

If you see strange signs, it might mean your fan is breaking down.

I believe that is how it went down. I turned my Acer's PredatorSense software dial up all the way to get my fan spinning at full speed...
