The laptop display changed to green and pink following the Windows 10 setup process.
Recently my Asus N550J laptop began acting odd. It started showing a purple/pink glow and kept displaying an old, opened screen that didn’t disappear. This occurred after I installed the first update since switching from Windows 10 to Windows 8 (it was an issue after shutting down during an update). At first, it would sometimes return to the normal display, but now it consistently stays purple/pink. I purchased a replacement screen with the same part number, but it doesn’t work at all. I assumed the problem was with the screen, but I’m unsure anymore… some people suggested it might be a motherboard issue. I can’t contact ASUS to fix it because the warranty is over. Anyone have any advice? Edited June 20, 2018 by GuiGianotti
I purchased that notebook in Germany: https://www.saturn.de/de/product/_asus-a...sche-daten Bildschirmdiagonale (cm/Zoll): 39.6 cm / 15.6 Zoll Betriebssystem: Windows® 8.1 - 64-Bit Prozessor: Intel® Core™ i7-4700HQ Arbeitsspeicher-Größe: 16 GB Festplatte 1: HDD , 1 TB , 5400 U/Min. , SATA Grafikkarte: GeForce GTX 850M Anschlüsse: 2in1 Card Reader, HDMI, Display Port, Kopfhörer, Mikrofon, 3x USB 3.0
To verify if the issue lies with the motherboard or GPU, connect it to an external monitor and check the display color. This method is often ineffective for notebook repairs since replacing components isn't possible and there are usually no software solutions. A potential workaround could involve color calibration to adjust the output.
Have you resolved the issue? I’m facing the identical challenge with the same model and specifications.
