I received an ASUS ZenBook around 5-6 years ago, equipped with an i7-7500U processor and 16GB RAM. The issue is it's becoming unstable recently. When freezing occurs, it starts lagging and freezes for a few seconds. I checked CPU and RAM usage along with temperatures, but nothing shows up. Even with low CPU and RAM utilization around 10-20%, it still freezes after about 5 to 10 minutes during startup and at low temperatures (~40 seconds). I've disabled throttling, run virus scans, reformatted the drive, and confirmed power settings are normal, including maximum performance cooling. The hard drive appears fine with acceptable read/write speeds.
The previous HDTune version isn't suitable for SSDs—it was developed long before SSD technology existed. It works well only for identifying bad sectors during a full health check. Hard Disk Sentinel is considered the most dependable option.
