It occurred unexpectedly on my main computer. The '-' key keeps being activated even when I type in a text field. Pressing other keys doesn't stop it, so the output looks like this: ---------h-------e---l-----p------------ I've changed keyboards, USB ports, and even removed all keyboard drives, but the issue persists. Restarting the computer doesn't fix it, and I can't recover my password during system recovery because it's handled there too. My system is Windows 10, about three years old. Let me know if you need more details.

Have you verified all USB connections are removed? It’s possible someone left a fake keyboard dongle in place. Also, try using a Linux Live or Windows installation USB stick to check if the issue persists—this could indicate hidden malware affecting your system.

It seems like the USB devices were removed successfully, but the system stopped working afterward. It might have been a faulty USB port or device. Thanks for reaching out!

It's one of the unsettling aspects of USB devices—they lack security, so random ones might masquerade as keyboards and behave oddly. It would be useful to identify the specific device since such behavior usually points to a malfunctioning imitation rather than an accident.

I'm not sure which one it was. I've checked plugging each one back in individually, and everything seems to work. Probably the USB hub is the issue, maybe a fault there.
