trying to configure the ASUS E-510 out of the box without using Microsoft accounts
shift f10 does nothing
pressing Windows key plus R launches the Run dialog
taskmgr is detected and opened,
searching for network flow and ending the task
unlike the videos I watched online, there’s no way to set up Windows offline
instead I’m stuck in a retry window
anyone can help me with this?
Thanks in advance

Begin by configuring it using an MS account. Once everything functions properly, create a local Admin or Standard user account. Avoid reusing the MS account for future logins.

Reminder: your "MS account" can be any email address with a unique password, not just '[email protected]'.

I don't need an MS account at all,
These accounts pose major security risks.
Is there another option?
Thanks

Specifically, your "MS account" functions as a Gmail address on your Windows 11 system.

since ms accounts are linked to operating systems
the ms account sync process might affect your whole system

as far as i understand, you should disconnect from the internet because of installation and setup processes. this prevents it from going online to log into the ms account, which then defaults to a local account. at least that was the usual method with windows 10/11. they might have updated it recently. alternatively, rufus can be used to generate an installer that bypasses hardware checks and the ms account requirement—searching for tutorials will show you how to do this easily.

Only when you enable the sync will it work.
And it requires a logged-in MS account.
These two Windows versions—Win 11 and Win 10—have never connected before. This has been true since the first Tech preview in 2015 with Win 10, and continues with Win 11 since November 2021.
All systems use the same (Gmail) "ms account" during initial setup.

I experienced a single account sync once, which was life-changing.
Not doing it anymore.

An older laptop will perform tasks more slowly and may struggle with modern applications.
