Hey there, I just completed the Windows 10 fall creators update, but faced some trouble during setup. Around the halfway point, power went out in my area, and I was redecorating so my PC sat on a coffee table temporarily. My UPS wasn’t connected, which made things tricky. Once power returned, I restarted and waited, then tried to finish the update from where it left off. To my surprise, it looped twice before continuing. After that, I’m still unsure if it’s just me or if others are seeing similar issues. I’ve been checking everything carefully—no new apps, services, or changes to startup settings—but the boot and shutdown times have noticeably increased. They used to be quick, maybe 1-3 seconds, now they’re around 15 seconds or more. I spent hours confirming my system was set up correctly before the update, but so far nothing seems off. Do you think anyone else has had this problem since the update? Or could it be a minor OS glitch?

MS doesn’t warn you to stop using your PC unless something is wrong. It seems like a file got damaged. Naturally, you won’t share your hardware details, so it could fail to satisfy the system needs...

Sorry, I hadn't considered that. Although it's quite some time ago, it remains a premium setup that comfortably exceeds expectations.

They made a poor change and had to remove it. That’s why updates for version 7 often get ignored.

It's frustrating. My system uses registry edits, so it doesn't auto-update unless I click manually. Restarting after an update also fails. They scheduled the maintenance at a bad time.

The package contained standard MS-related items, nothing unusual or recent.

I observed only occasional drops in frames per second, which is why I removed the Creators Update.

Typically everything works fine, though I encountered some graphics driver problems. If this were your situation, I’d revert to the earlier version in the settings and then upgrade again to prevent any data loss.

Ugh, it seems like nobody else is having the same issue either. That’s disappointing for me. I’ll experiment a bit more in the hope of uncovering the reason, though I think a fresh install might be on the way soon. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions everyone, it means a lot.
