You might consider performing a ZFS scrub, which checks all data and fixes issues if necessary. It should be done periodically. I hadn’t thought to mention it before, but on my machine the similar task runs automatically every two months, so I don’t have to manage it manually. Doing it first would be helpful.
I followed this suggestion and performed a lengthy smart test. It took some time due to mechanical HDD sounds and living in an apartment—definitely not a sign for your wife.
