The issue with Steam refunds for digital game codes has been addressed.
Greetings everyone, I’m curious about something. Let's say a game is returned on Steam, such as Grand Theft Auto 5, which provides a product key. If a game is refunded, does that key become unusable, or can it be reused for future purchases?
If a duplicate key were used, exploitation would be remarkably simple. Removing the key is straightforward because generating a new one is equally easy.
If you purchase it directly from the source, that won’t be a problem. However, using websites offering inexpensive game codes can lead to unusable keys. Even if a key provided by Steam is defective, you should still reach out to their customer service team.
