You chose 2666 ram because it seemed more suitable, though 3200 might have been a better option.

Arrived as a ready-made version, I question if this is my problem after all.

You don't appear to be engaging sincerely, so I'll just wait for others to reply. If I'm mistaken, I apologize; I truly value the effort people put into assisting me, though this line of thought doesn't seem to match.

When there are no more options left, consider using the low-speed RAM.

I'm a seasoned gamer who just turned 60. Through my years with gaming hardware, I've learned that using the right rated RAM for your motherboard boosts performance and keeps frame rates steady. Of course, your CPU, GPU, and RAM will also automatically overclock when needed to maintain a playable FPS. Most of the games I play run smoothly at 60 FPS without any issues, especially with XMP enabled. You might want to check if your motherboard supports 2666 MHz—maybe it's a bit too slow. Also, consider setting your TV to 1440p for better consistency in FPS. Cheers.

Bob you might just have it. I saw my RAM speed had been reset back to its factory default, likely after a BIOS update—probably around 20% below what it should be. That happened before, and I thought fixing it would help, but it didn’t. This time it seems to have made a big difference, so I’m assuming my RAM speed is the main issue and I’ll upgrade to something better.

Thanks for your response, it seems the RAM speed problem is real, so I’ll upgrade and check the results. But I’m confident from the test I ran last night.

Before making any changes, it’s wise to examine system performance using Task Manager, Reliability Monitor, and Process Explorer (Microsoft, free) to set a baseline. Use all tools individually, keeping others unchanged while testing. The goal is to understand what’s consuming resources and how RAM might be involved. No need to rush—just observe and verify. It may require some trial and error to find the right adjustments. After making improvements to RAM speed, recheck performance to see if there’s a noticeable boost. You might also uncover other settings or background apps that affect resource usage, which can be disabled or removed if needed.

Thank you Ralston18 for your guidance. It's crucial to perform some tests prior to upgrading the hardware. I'll evaluate this on my own system before making any changes. Cheers.
