Hi all, I just purchased the Brother DCP 1512E, installed the drivers and full software, but I can print fine yet face issues with scanning. The error message is "Failed to connect to the device tw006". I've tried various versions of the software from the Brother website for different operating systems, including Windows 11, 10, and 7, but the problem persists. I've tested all possible applications—some recognize it as a scanner or WIA—but nothing works. It starts normally but then fails with an error. Interestingly, the scanner behaves like a copy machine without issues, while Windows identifies it as a 1510 series printer. Could you please assist? I’ve completed all prechecks and verified services, but I’m stuck.

I face a comparable problem with our Brother printers when I don't utilize the Control Center application. The Windows scanning approach doesn't function correctly in this scenario.

I'm experiencing an issue while using the Control Center app, and after trying NAPS2 as well, the problem continues. I've already explored all possible solutions without success.

SOLUTION: Even if you are using Win11 initially, remove all drivers and software through Brother uninstall tools. Use RevoUninstaller to clear any remnants in the registry. Restart and install a 32-bit version of the software, then restart again. You can uninstall the program if desired, or use any other free NAPS2 version. I discovered that since Win7 there were compatibility problems between 32 and 64 bit, making this an old method I tried before—it now functions! Thanks everyone, have a great day!
