The disk issue indicates it's write-protected, often because it's failing. This can occur with devices like the Samsung 980 Pro NVMe due to firmware errors. To preserve data, you can clone it since cloning only reads. However, with a brand new Windows installation, replacing the disk is the best solution.

Sure, it sounds like you're considering whether a new drive might require replacing your motherboard. Let me know if you'd like more details!

I believe the installation should work fine on the new disk.

Your confidence is really encouraging. I'm planning to purchase a new drive today, this time choosing an M.2 option. Once it arrives, I'll share the outcomes and set it up. @da na @Tetras @Kilrah @Robchil Thank you all for your support and understanding! I appreciate having such knowledgeable individuals ready to assist. EDIT: Completed CPU test, passed. Updated November 13, 2023 by Frikinhel added CPU test results

I've been using the replacement drive for 24 hours and haven't encountered any problems with system32. I still see a single error in Event Viewer when starting up for Event ID 56, but I'm not sure if it relates to my issues in August. The error hasn't affected my PC, so I'm not taking any action. Removing it could cause more damage. Thanks to everyone for your help! I agree with Rob—it was the drive. I don't know what caused it, but I'm relieved the headache is gone.
