I experienced a situation where the screen turned black completely and the fans increased to maximum. The technicians who built the PC told me the CPU cooler wasn’t working. When I returned it, the issue disappeared on the first day but reappeared randomly after playing games like Elden Ring, Resident Evil 2, and 3 without issues. It also crashed again in the main menu of Resident Evil 2 while adjusting graphics settings. Is this a typical problem or the same one they haven’t resolved? Also note that before submitting it, the PC would crash after just 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay; has the issue improved since then? If you’re curious, I’ve got an RTX 2060 for anyone who wants to know.
Same problem again? It seems like something might be overheating, not just a slight slowdown before shutdown. Would you like to download HWInfo64 to check temperatures under load? Also, could you share the most important specs—especially CPU, cooler, and case? And do you know what the RTX 2060 is specifically? Any chance you mean Gigabyte?
I have hwinfo and temperatures for the CPU and GPU are within acceptable ranges (60-70 CPU and 70-80 GPU under full load). Before I put the PC to sleep, the CPU would reach 100-105°C, which was resolved using the new cooler. My machine uses an Intel i7-9700KF and I’m not certain about the cooling setup or case, but it seems to be an air-cooled system.
Thirty-six units idle with 50 to 60 units under load. What does a "gpu hot spot" mean and is it acceptable for it to exceed 80%?
Sure, I can help with that. Just open the Event Viewer and check for any errors.

The event viewer appears empty at the time of the incident. I noticed numerous nvlddmkm errors upon initial setup, which might not be related. Could this simply be a standard crash because I wasn’t playing during the event?
That's an Nvidia driver error. You could try running DDU in safe mode and then install drivers again. It's important to keep internet unplugged until drivers are installed as Windows likes to install bad ones. I think it thermal throttles at 100, but doesn't shut down so while not the issue here you should definitely look into that. Does removing the side panel make any difference?
