It definitely feels mechanical. The loud noise from the air compressor makes it hard to pinpoint exactly, but it might be the pump or something similar. I’d suggest going with a Thermalright PS for better cooling, fewer parts that could fail, and significantly quieter operation (they’re affordable too).

I might have solved this. It seems the fans on the aio were doing more than expected. A quick restart resolved it temporarily. I'm trying it out now while I have a bit more time during my break.
