Hello! I'm trying to figure out what might be going wrong with my setup. My 3700X never reaches above 3500MHz even with PBO enabled. I ran a CineBench R23 multi-core test for about 20 minutes using a 32GB 3600MHz G.Skill Trident Neo DDR4. The CPU matched the clock to 1800MHz (with XMP enabled) on a Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro with F33e BIOS. I've checked forums but most people say they can't exceed 4.2GHz, except for single-core boosts which are rare. I know single-core doesn't go past 3500MHz, but I'm not seeing any boost at all. I've looked everywhere and only found mentions of limits around 4.2GHz. Can you help me identify what I might be missing? Thanks, Neil
I have some differences in view. Ryzen Master works well for checking and confirming, but AMD tools give the most precise data. For actual adjustments, always rely on the BIOS.
Both I removed Ryzen Master yet I'm still not seeing any boosts. It seems I might have accidentally modified something in my BIOS. I'll reset it to the default settings and attempt again. In the BIOS I encountered a bit of confusion because there were two options for enabling PBO. Cheers, Neil
It seems the manual doesn’t specify how to trigger the BIOS PBO activation. You might need to check the device-specific guide or contact support for details.
Quickly loading the newest F33h BIOS... seems to be in the AMD Overclocking settings. I’ll attempt to capture a screenshot via Settings > AMD Overclocking > PBO.
Also task manager has always shown it as 3.49GHz and base speed 3.60GHz Got to be honest I'm totally stumped by this
Hello everyone! I worked through this problem all night and found the cause. Before the screenshot was made, the processor ran at 99% capacity—likely adjusted to stop the annoying fan noise. If anyone has a fix, please share! I changed it to 100% and reran CB R23; all cores boosted nicely. Hope this helps others facing the same issue. Cheers, Neil
