Hello everyone.
I’m facing a significant problem with my PC.
Occasionally it crashes right after the MSI loading screen shows up. Other times it randomly stops during normal use, like when browsing the web or doing other tasks. When this happens, many pixels appear on the screen, causing it to freeze and crash.
I believe the problem lies with the display adapter. In the Device Manager, when I select Display adapters, my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti shows an exclamation mark. When I click on its properties, a message appears: "Device status: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). How can I fix this issue?"
Here are my PC specifications:
- Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor GHz
- 16 GB RAM
- Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS
- ACPI x64-based PC
- MSI MS-7B78
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

And you are using NVIDIA drivers rather than Microsoft drivers, correct?

For one, you'd see a green Nvidia icon in your tray. To verify its presence, navigate to Control Panel, Device Manager, and Display Adapter(s). If the exclamation mark appears, it might indicate incompatible drivers. When downloading drivers from nvidia, ensure you choose the correct GPU and OS.

Thank you for the update. I verified that the newest Nvidia drivers are present (installed on 8/4/23). Despite this, the exclamation icon remains active. I also use GeForce Experience to confirm proper driver installation, which suggests there might be no issues there. The Game Ready Driver was installed as well, but the same problems persist. Could you please clarify the correct GPU and operating system for my setup?

GeForce GTX 1080Ti & Windows 11 Pro 64bit. Important points to consider on the selection page at NVIDIA.
However, are the drivers you have installed suitable for your card and operating system?
Assuming they are, the main issue might be the GPU or a physical installation problem.

I visited their homepage, selected the correct options, and installed the newest Studio Driver WHQL and Game Ready Driver. The exclamation mark disappeared. But when I restarted the computer for some reason, it restarted again after a few minutes of use. It might be related to the GPU or installation problem. I’m not sure how to check or fix it.

And now the machine froze and stopped working, this is unusual.

Was er dir gesagt, den PC erneut zu starten, und hat Microsoft deine neuen Treiber überschrieben?

No, it didn't instruct you to restart. You handled the restart yourself after installation.
