Greetings,

I enjoy playing video games on my personal computer, which I have been using for several years. However, beginning last week, some of my games are experiencing significant performance problems without a clear explanation. Restarting the computer often resolves the issue temporarily, but subsequent startup attempts can lead to similar performance degradation. My games include Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League, Apex Legends, and World of Tanks.

Typically, I achieve frame rates of 180+ in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, 150 in Rocket League, and 75 in Apex Legends. Recently, I've encountered a persistent stutter that has reduced these frame rates to the 30s and 40s, rendering the games unplayable for me as a competitive player. I have analyzed my system’s performance metrics – CPU, GPU, and RAM – during these instances of stuttering, and I have not observed any abnormalities. My RAM utilization is consistently at half capacity, my CPU does not reach maximum usage continuously, and it remains cool. My overclocks for both the CPU and GPU were stable following testing months ago, and I have sufficient storage space. I am unable to identify the root cause of these problems. Assistance is requested.

System Specifications:
AMD Ryzen 3 1200 overclocked to 3.8 GHz
MSI GTX 1050 Ti with +70 core clock and +160 memory clock
Patriot Viper 2x4 GB 2800 MHz
MSI Gaming X Micro ATX Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
EVGA 500W PSU

Do you use Windows 10? If so, what was your most recent update installation date? Recent reports indicate that a new Windows 10 update is causing problems with game performance. You should investigate if this is related. If it is, consider reverting your updates using System Restore or another method.

It began to be implemented in recent weeks. This might occur. You can attempt a system restore point rollback from December if one exists, or use Windows 10’s native update reversion feature.
