I have it up and running just a quick question before I start gaming is it normal that my CPU clock is constantly spiking from like 1300 range back to 4200 MHz while my pc is idle with just a few google tabs open

It’s likely your power supply unit is causing the problem. 500 watts appears insufficient, particularly considering it's only a bronze model. Examine inside the case to check for a labeling indicating its wattage.

I’m taking a shot here, but I experienced something similar in the past. It took me several weeks to discover that some of the applications I was utilizing were employing a setting called ‘hardware acceleration,’ and once I altered these settings, my problems ceased. The two programs causing me the most difficulties were Chrome and an older game I previously played.
