The internet streaming is quite unstable.
Hello everyone, I’m facing a new issue that’s been puzzling me. My YouTube videos often appear choppy or laggy when not in fullscreen mode. However, once the video is fully displayed, the performance improves significantly. Scrolling down to the comments causes noticeable delays until the video disappears, after which scrolling becomes smoother again. Once it reappears, the playback restarts with a stutter. Additionally, my Netflix automatically reduces quality to 420p. It seems the streaming experience is affecting overall smoothness.
Before I ask, yes, my setup is hardwired with a stable internet connection—900 downloads and 50 uploads. There’s no buffering or pausing. This problem started overnight and has persisted for nearly two weeks. I’ve tried various solutions: resetting the network, switching browsers, enabling hardware acceleration in settings, adjusting power plans, turning off extensions, updating drivers, and even reinstalling everything. I also checked for Windows updates, but a security patch from June won’t install.
What stands out is that when my CPU idles at around 5.2 GHz, the videos don’t stutter, but with Power Saver mode enabled, they do. My CPU struggles to run intensive games even at this setting, and titles like Final Fantasy or CoD refuse to launch. I’m looking for alternatives—ways to avoid fullscreen playback or constant power plan changes without these disruptions.
Details about my hardware: i7-14700K, Intel 5070Ti (currently overclocked), 2x 8GB DDR5 RAM at 5000MHz, 1200W PSU. I’ve recorded a sample video showing the difference between fullscreen and standard size. The file is named MedalTVScreenRecording20250704144129-tr-edit-tr-edit-tr-edit-tr-edit.mp4.
