Hey everyone, the connection keeps slowing down and dropping unexpectedly. My parents thought it was my fault, but I didn’t mess anything that could cause this. I looked at the logs and blocked two unfamiliar IP addresses that weren’t showing up. Still, it keeps happening—these IPs aren’t even from our home network. We’re using a NetGear R7000 with Spectrum Internet.

Begin with updating your Wi-Fi password. Perhaps GlassWire can help!

Haha, I don’t have the budget for VPNs and my parents wouldn’t let me alter the password.

It’s easy enough, but have you attempted to restart the router via the back button? You might also access the admin dashboard to check for any updates.

I confirmed the presence of two suspicious IP addresses and ensured they aren't associated with our network.

Who manages your home network? If they do, they should raise concerns to you; if not, you need to establish clear guidelines on passwords and security. Why is a password so important? Why don’t you update it regularly, every few months or at least yearly?

I'm keeping an eye on the internet. My parents wouldn't let me alter the password, but I'll attempt to explain that we need a new one. We haven't changed it before.

It might be due to their side. A signal problem could be the cause. It could stem from a modem issue or several other factors. Without checking your modem's signal levels, it's hard to pinpoint the exact reason.

Search the web about those IP addresses to understand their purpose. Use db-ip.com for verification.
