I'm using a room with a built-in router for internet access. Because the wall outlets didn't have LAN ports, I installed a Wi-Fi card (CF-WP1750 1750Mbps). Connecting it to my computer gave me impressive speeds thanks to the fiber optic connection and this card. One day I lost the connection suddenly, then it reconnected briefly before dropping again. After checking, reinstalling drivers and trying different settings helped a bit, but it still wasn't stable. I couldn't access the router interface or network tools since they're restricted to the apartment owner. I observed intermittent drops—ping tests showed most packets arriving with low latency, but occasionally the connection would stall near 1000ms. This was frustrating during gaming or online classes. Sometimes the 5GHz band didn't work even though other apartments had it, and the Wi-Fi card's power-saving mode was off. Recently, during a late-night study session around 3 AM, the connection kept cutting out repeatedly. Could anyone explain what's going on and suggest a solution? Also, I noticed that when someone else opened or closed the door in the room, the connection would disappear—did you see that happen too?

Did you review the 5GHz spectrum? Install a Wi-Fi analyzer app on your phone and examine available channels. Look for an unused channel and switch it on the router. Consider testing with a cable connection for comparison. If problems persist after switching to cable, the issue might not be related to your Wi-Fi signal and could align with what @AMD A10-9600P highlighted.

I’d like to try that, it could really help with my issues. I don’t have access to the router settings since only the owner can do that. It seems like the problem might be connected to my current configuration, because I’m not experiencing any connection issues on my laptop or phone.

Turn off automatic driver setup in Windows. Save drivers yourself from http://en.comfast.com.cn/index.php?m=con...=30&id=409. Open Device Manager and remove the device. Look for delete driver option. Restart your system and apply the downloaded driver.

So I managed to get it to function in some way, but it's hard to say for sure if anything helped. I'm pretty sure it's still not fully working, though it's less of an issue now. I've tried a few times and nothing happened. Regarding router settings like frequency or other adjustments, I can't change them because the landlord only allows access through him. I'm not in the US—I'm in Poland (EU)—so I don't have much experience with that specific ISP. All I know is they're demanding a lot of money for sending a technician, even for basic maintenance, and I don't want to waste it since I'm still in college.
