I’m experiencing issues with a 5GHz Wi-Fi extender connected to my PC through a LAN cable. It only works sporadically—about two-thirds of the time the internet drops and then restarts after roughly two seconds. When I play an online game, it gets affected. What might be causing this problem?

Have you checked for driver updates on your wireless adapter? How close are you to the router? 5G usually offers quicker speeds than 2.4, but it lacks the reach and power of 2.4. It tends to be less reliable over long distances and through obstacles. Changing to 2.4 might provide a more stable connection.

Approximately 4.5 meters in length, yet the link appears stable since it reaches peak internet performance

What operating system are you using? Although many are growing weary of this question, have you ever attempted a restart?

I verified and found an updated BIOS, I’ll try installing it to see if it resolves this bothersome issue.

The problem lies with W10, which is updated frequently. You'd need to reinstall from the beginning every few months using the newest image to stay current with the latest fixes. Based on my experience, it usually takes over five years for a new OS to become reliable. You might also try hardlining your Ethernet or LAN directly into the router to resolve these issues. If LAN disconnects persist, there could be underlying problems.
