A few days back I observed that uploading files was taking much longer than normal. My speed test showed a drop of 40-50 times, from about 180 mbps to around 4 mbps. I’m using Wi-Fi through a repeater linked to my modem. Details: modem model MAG z790 Tomahawk WIFI (Wi-Fi 6 compatible), repeater BrosTrend AC1200 V2 (5 GHz & 2.4 GHz), and modem with 1gbps down, 200mbps up, dual bands. I attempted various fixes—testing speed via Google, restarting the modem, unplugging/reconnecting the repeater, resetting the modem, prioritizing my PC, connecting to a local server (103 mbps upload on 2.4 GHz), updating drivers, and updating BIOS. The problem seemed to happen unexpectedly, and I haven’t made any recent network changes beyond setting up virtual machines.

It's unclear what occurred because the details of your connection method aren't specified. You mentioned considering both WiFi and Ethernet, but no further information was provided about which one you used or whether speeds were consistent.

Apologies for the delayed response. I've tested Ethernet and it operates around 930 Mbps down and 180 Mbps up. Your ISP offers 1000 Mbps down and 200 Mbps up, which is within normal expectations.

It seems you're checking if speed testing works when the device is connected versus when it's not. You noticed a big difference—over 900 Mbps with it plugged in, but just 100 with it unplugged. You also wonder if router settings might be affecting performance.

I attempted speed testing with and without a LAN connection and obtained comparable outcomes. I haven’t adjusted any router settings, and even after resetting it, the results remained consistent.
