The Intel IRST caused the shutdown of your laptop.
Hello there, I'm just a regular user with an Asus laptop (GL504GW). I'm using a modified Windows 11 version called "Phoenix lite OS." I installed most of my apps, but when I tried to set up the Intel IRST driver from Asus's support site, something went wrong. The Windows Explorer window appeared with the secondary non-Intel HDD missing. I panicked, stopped the installation, restarted the PC, and after about ten minutes it worked again. The drive returned, but everything felt off. Now I experience extremely slow internet speeds—around 60 kbps—even though my speed tests show 500 Mbps. Downloading anything takes ages, and streaming on some sites is nearly impossible. I've tried formatting both my HDD and the Intel Optane SSD, but nothing seems to fix the problem. I'm really worried because my laptop is essential, and I need a solution fast. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
The problem was fixed by taking out my HDD from the laptop and restarting. After roughly ten minutes, I tried to download a file and it loaded quickly as usual. Then I reinstalled the modified Windows 10, downloaded all my programs, and put the HDD back in. Everything is now functioning properly.
