It's typical behavior. Laptops have limited cooling options, so to achieve higher performance they operate at the maximum temperatures possible. If you wish to alter this without sacrificing speed, consider cooling upgrades, though many are not easy to install regularly.

When connected, gaming laptops reach maximum temperature quickly, which is typical. They don’t stay as cool as desktops because of limited cooling, so they heat up more to operate at higher speeds.

It will limit performance. Though the common belief is it shortens device life by running components at higher temps, real-world use doesn't show massive failures like thousands of MacBooks dying. So it probably isn't a major concern.
