The Intel Extreme card just won't go overclock anymore.
I own a Dell XPS 9575 with an Intel i7-8705g processor. Before, I could easily boost my speed or lower my power using Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility until recently. After reinstalling Windows, the program says my computer doesn't support overclocking. That can't be right because I used to do it just a few weeks ago with that same software. What could have made this happen?
Have you ever tried taking out the program and putting it back on?
My new Dell Precision has a fixed voltage setting too. I reached out to ProSupport about lowering the BIOS and they said my warranty would stay safe. But I'm still scared to try it. I turned off SGX in BIOS and reset everything, so now my i9-9980hk isn't locked at 2.4GHz anymore—all cores run up to 4.9GHz instead. The issue is that voltage stays stuck, making the computer heat up too much. I haven't figured out a way around this lock yet. Hopefully Dell sends an update soon.
