I have a major concern about the Intel Core i3 12100 Socket pressure and recent updates on Alder Lake CPU bending due to heat. I'm considering purchasing it if it looks good, but I need to know if the CPU will still bend even with a stock fan cooler. Are these issues only with alternative coolers, or can they happen with the standard one? Thank you for your assistance!

The bending problem with socket 1700 CPUs stems from the retention bracket design within the socket, not the cooler. Regardless of the cooler chosen, the CPU will still bend. Cooling performance may be slightly reduced, but it remains a minor concern.

Yes, it will bend—just as Bobvonbob mentioned—it's not about the cooler, but the retention bracket or ILM. Still, with the 12100 it's not a huge issue since it doesn<|pad|> to start hot.
