This board includes an APG slot, suitable for a GeForce 7900 GS AGP card.
Alternative options are listed for GeForce 6800 GT AGP.

The only 8 or 12MB GPU that makes sense is a Voodoo 2, since it would also allow playing Glide API games. It functions as a pass-through card, enabling continued use of the IGP to run any DX7-DX9 API titles.

8MB/12MB graphics card – not a good deal.
If you manage to get 64MB – 256MB AGP graphics card for a couple of dollars, then it could be worth considering.
GeForce 3 Ti 200
GeForce 4 Ti 4800
GeForce FX 5800
GeForce 6800 GT
GeForce 7900 GT

Is it correct that the board requires an AGP slot (model ms-6714, 845g, red PCB version 5)? Could you provide a picture of your board?

Back then many games appeared quite poor when run in Direct3D mode, nearly matching the quality of software rendering. You'd typically pick either OpenGL or, if you had a Voodoo card, Glide/MiniGL. Quake 2, for instance, needed at least OpenGL 1.4 and didn't support Direct3D, so your IGP could only run it in subpar software mode since it only supported up to OpenGL 1.3. If you aim to play any of these titles in high quality using Glide, you'd need a Voodoo 2. Otherwise, the latest NVIDIA cards available via PCI include Geforce 210 (30w), GT610 (29w) or GT710 (19w). For AMD systems, options are Radeon x1300 or HD 2400 Pro, both under 20w.
