Verify the CPU voltage in BIOS and within the operating system (such as Windows). Use tools like HWInfo to monitor this. Instead of turning off Turbo Boost, try reactivating it, and turn off Multi-Core Enhancement (MCE) to see if performance improves. Identify the BIOS version your motherboard supports. Also, measure the cooler's fan speed.

The displayed temperatures are from immediately after startup, while the Windows update process was underway. The system appears stable, as shown by the Task Manager, which reports minimal CPU usage around 16 percent.

Used a cooler today and it seems I have sufficient thermal paste, looking even distributed properly, so the installation went smoothly.

Confirmation, thanks Uncle Webb. I wasn't sure to bring it up, but it looked like the most sensible choice back then. A straightforward procedure even without the delid tool, yet it's quite affordable and the best way to handle the delid. +1 rep. Just using MX-4 and avoiding liquid metal for the replacement paste though.

I perform this task whenever suitable. Given these older CPUs with significant growth possibilities, I believe it's wise to recommend it, provided you attach clear warnings so the user understands the dangers.

I support removing unnecessary parts. That’s essentially why I brought it up. Be careful if you really think about it. I think the person making this post would understand by looking it up. Check out some solid facts and see if it feels doable. It needs minimal handwork skills when using the right tool. Here’s a photo of a 220w FX 9590 5ghz soldered de-lid. Removing it at 8600K would be straightforward. Spoiler alert!
