I don't have a specific resolution in mind, but I can suggest some popular games that work well on various resolutions. Let me know if you'd like recommendations!

You're likely to hit the CPU first.

The MBA setup is identical, and it performs well in most games, though not at maximum capacity. EDIT - lol, you're getting a MBA Yes, it'll work.

It should operate Dota 2 at 60 FPS easily since the game is designed for older systems, which helps maintain a large player base without high demands.

But it makes sense to do it for games like Dota2 or LoL.. you have no reason to care about graphics in these games also you dont have to buy skins. I play LoL for around 3 years and I spend 5 € on that game in total and I still enjoy it. Those are very competetive games so to make them run on as many machines as possible is key to achieve success of bringing as many players to it as possible. I wouldnt compare this to console games for that reason.

The MBA felt like a spontaneous purchase, and I definitely needed one for my university. Plus, I hadn’t used Mac before, so it was a great offer.

You'll love it. Macs are great, despite what most people on the forum would tell you
