before you go "intel is dead and I'm going to buy a 5950XT". I think that even if you are going to go AMD it is still worth it to wait for intel's offer because their could be a price reduction in AMD chips. I was wondering when they will be available. my current plan has for me to either buy a 3080 as fast as possible or a I9 11900k and I was wondering if the 500 series boards will be available at launch or at Q2. this will clear up my upgrade plan.

Intel hasn't shared any clues about a confirmed launch time, meaning those hoping for a PC by year-end might face delays

Z490 boards support 11th generation CPUs after a BIOS update. Choose a board that includes a BIOS flashback feature so you can use it without needing a new CPU. There isn’t much to highlight for the Z590 yet. It’s unclear when this will happen, but waiting until around 11th generation with a 4-month delay might not be worth it when the $800 price tag is already seen as reasonable for a 5950X.
