The installation of Kali Linux appears to be halting.
I’m trying to set up Kali Linux on my HP EliteBook 840 G3 again, but it keeps getting stuck. It mentioned that SprayKatz extraction failed before. I installed from a USB 3.0 stick with Ventoy using the 11 GB offline installer to a Samsung SATA SSD, and I selected GNOME with the largest app pack. Is it just taking longer or is there something wrong? Thanks.
I could suggest switching to a different USB drive and/or updating Kali via Rufus. I’m new to Kali, so I’m not very familiar with it, but I hope this assists.
Avoid setting up Kali Linux on regular devices unless they're dedicated penetration testing tools. This is because Kali Linux isn't built for everyday operation.
Your main browser for daily use—like Firefox or Chrome—is fully ready.
Linux offers flexibility in modifications to suit your needs. On Ubuntu, you can use apt to install all software on Kali, regardless of its intended purpose, similar to how Windows allows installing penetration testing tools for specific tasks.
Kali is used to obtain system parts from its own repository, which comes after Debian. Don’t delay updating Debian security patches until someone does it for you. This poses a serious issue for desktop users. No need to rely on Kali.
