Hi
I received the specifications you mentioned earlier. I’m curious if any of these components could be overclocked slightly to boost performance a bit, even if only marginally. Also, I’m considering adding an 8GB RAM module since there’s an available slot, like the HyperX 8GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM from EBay.
I’m currently saving for a new build and it will take some time. Right now I’m planning to play games such as Cities: Skylines, Total War, Football Manager, and older FPS titles. My goal is to optimize this setup as much as possible.

Avoid spending extra on that system unless necessary; use it as it is. Certain games aren't suited for dual cores, even with the overclockable G3258. You might install an i5, i7, or i3 with 8GB RAM, but for a better experience you can upgrade to a new platform offering features like an M.2 SSD, USB-C, etc. What kind of power supply does it have? If you're on a tighter budget, consider the Pentium G4560 Kaby Lake with 2 cores, 4 threads, and 3.5 GHz, similar to the I3 6100 but at roughly half the price. It requires a 200 series motherboard and DDR4 2400 MHz 8GB RAM. You could sell the old CPU board and RAM.

Prices and options:
- Core components around $199, including future upgrades, two extra RAM slots, USB-C, M.2 SSD.
- Alternative: Intel Core I5-4460 LGA1150-Haswell, refresh quad-core 32GHz, Turbo 1100MHz, GPU 84W, CPU Ret, retail price $185, plus $60 for RAM.
- Another option: Intel Core I3-4170 LGA1150-Haswell, dual-core 37GHz, 5Gb SDRAM, retail $115, plus $60 for RAM.
- Then choose a power supply and budget to decide between 1050, 1050TI, 1060 3GB or 1060 6GB SSD later.
