Please be patient, the issue is with the special characters in your Wi-Fi password. If you're using RetroPie, try typing the password manually and see if it works without the symbol. Let me know what happens!

You can adjust your keyboard country and layout settings in raspi-config (this issue has been encountered before)

Do that. Also, it's a 'pound' symbol, not a 'hashtag' (not to be confused with the pound Sterling symbol)
