I just got an i9 9900KS. It’s clocking 5.0 cores, no AVX offsets, and 4.7 uncores at 1.34v in LLC level 6 (ASUS Z390i). Max temp is 92°C, average around 78°C with OCCT. It’s been delidded. I’m using a smaller air cooler (SilverArrow 130). Thoughts? Would it be praised or not?

It was around a typical level, just a bit below the norm. I’d rate it a 6 out of 10.

Additional note: Op needs to perform a cinebench comparing stock and OC, since OC might actually underperform particularly with such a limited OC setup.

This CPU is designed for extended use, so it performs much better than standard models. Avoid exceeding 1.35v. Configure llc to auto, set current limit at full, max CPU cache, adjust multicore settings off, zero avx offset, and sync all cores. Once you reach a baseline, fine-tune per core. Keep OC below 78-80°C during heavy continuous operation.

The audience was quite harsh. You should really think about these points: I’m on an ITX board, which is considered solid for it; I’m using a 130mm air cooler; my AVX offset is 0. With all that, is this still acceptable?

What's happening with the CPU cache? This seems serious. Above 4.7, the i9-9900K starts acting weird. Multicore boost might help, but it doesn’t seem to fix it. My system is currently auto, and I’m curious if turning it off would make a difference.

Can lead to crashes on my 9900k; unsure about the exact settings for this motherboard. It seems related to the maximum TVB. If multicore improvements are enabled and set to auto, it might help prevent crashes. That’s why I disable it in OC mode.
