Hello, I have a few queries. My setup includes a 6950x at 4.5ghz stable paired with an ASUS Strix OCT 1080Ti, and I'm using a 3440x1440p 144Hz monitor. I recently purchased an ASUS Strix OCT 3080 and want to know if my system might become a bottleneck. I'm playing games at maximum settings, especially for shadows on low, and I'm seeing around 80-100 FPS. My CPU is running about 30-40% while the GPU is at 97-100%. Could someone help explain how everything fits together and what might cause a bottleneck? My specs are ASUS Rampage 10 Edition with an EMC Monoblock Intel i7 6950X @4.5GHz stable, Corsair Vengeance LX 8x8GB at 3200MHz, Corsair RM1000i onboard, Corsair MP510 1TB M.2 x16 card V2 4x MP510 1TB RAID.

You placed the order already, so try using it and keep an eye on CPU and GPU activity. At that setting it should work, though FPS might be slightly lower than the latest i7/i9. After you see your numbers, compare them to some YouTube benchmarks for the same GPU with a 10900k. Thanks!

That's around 10 frames per second plus. A few titles offer 1080p resolution.

Tests performed on 10 and 20 series GPUs. The 3000 series GPUs may increase the bottlenecking difference because the CPU must now keep up with the GPU performance.

I operate in a higher quality than 1080p and even beyond 1440p. The greater the resolution, the less processing power is needed because the GPU can only handle fewer frames when the image quality is high... This means you'll perform well at your chosen setting. Unless you're aiming for an additional 10% of frames (which is typical), this CPU capacity should suffice.

Whether bottlenecking matters depends on your comfort with frame rates. OP uses a newer model, Broadwell, while the other uses an older Gen. Enjoyment comes from what works for you.
