Hello everyone, I had my i7 13700K swapped out because of the 0x129 microcode problem. Regarding cooling, the previous chip performed well at normal temperatures—around 38-40°C during idle and barely exceeding 70°C while gaming. In stress tests and rendering, it throttled significantly. The new one overheats immediately upon loading, staying near 100°C during gameplay. Disabling boost in BIOS brings temperatures closer to the old model. The Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240mm fits but isn’t sufficient; it’s the largest available option. I contacted both Intel and Arctic support, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Attached are HWinfo data showing the first spike when opening a browser and the second when launching Halo Infinite in the menus. Thanks a lot! test.CSV
Not yet, really... Could this be the reason? I've switched off the boost and the CPU isn't overheating at all.
It looks like this might be related to a TIM problem. I’d make sure to verify it.
It seems like a minor issue caused the problem. Fortunately, it was only a mounting mistake. I installed the CPU in the socket incorrectly, but now everything is working properly and temperatures are normal. Thanks!
