Modern 6/12 chips can hit over 90% saturation in recent titles like CP2077, and even the 5600xt reaches 60%+. I’d recommend an 8/16 chip. Edit: typo alert!

I checked some benchmark data for 5600X, 10700F and 10700K. It’s simpler to view the charts directly instead of reading through lengthy video explanations.

On average, at 1080p, the 5600X is about 2.5% faster than the 10700K and 3% faster than the 10700F. At 1440p, the 10700K leads by 1.4%, while the 10700F is 1.9% faster than the 5600X. The F variant tends to be marginally quicker than the K, though this is subjective.

Overall, the differences aren’t huge and can depend on the specific game, system specs, and settings. Having eight cores seems to offer a noticeable edge in performance.

In short, these models were evaluated using a 2080 Ti; now at 1080p it seems the 2080 Ti isn't the main bottleneck, but I anticipate some performance boost at 1440p with the 2080 Ti could reach 4K on a 3080 or higher. Considering TPU's 720p test for the 2080 Ti might better reflect 1080p on a 3080 or more. Still, a noticeable gap of 10-15% even at 1440p probably won<|pad|>'s perspective, unless there’s any stuttering involved. As long as the experience remains smooth, real-world results should stay consistent across these processors. This particular one offers a more accurate comparison since it used a 3090: 5900x achieved 19% speedup over the 10700K at 1080p stock, and 8% when both were overclocked. At 1440p stock it was only 9% faster, and 2% when both were overclocked. I expect at 4K the difference to be negligible. Just remember this isn’t a direct match, as the 5900X is a 12-core model. Compared to a 5600X, the variations will be even smaller. But it’s pretty close. Very few people would play at 1080p with a 3090, and the jump from 144fps to 140fps at 1440p is hard to detect. This isn’t close to the performance gap seen between first-gen Ryzen and Intel at that time, nor is it as significant as the difference between Intel and Zen 2. Many recommended 3600-3700X models regardless, even though this one is a bit more realistic.
