My i5 6600k requires too much voltage to run stably at 4.6 GHz. It needs about 1.47v. Under load, temperatures reach around 70-80 ยฐc. I tested it with AIDA64 and RealBench simultaneously. Is the CPU faulty or is my setup the issue?

The 1.47 VCore is too high; it should be reduced to a maximum of 1.4VCore. Sometimes getting a faulty CPU happens.

Thank you.
Yeah. that really high for me too.
I'm try to see how far it take to stable at 4.6 GHz.
Now I set it to 4.5 with 1.40v.
waiting a results stress test 24 hr.

And it didn't work at 4.5 with 1.4 speed

It's frustrating not being able to achieve the overclock you expected, even though 4.4 seems stable; the gap to 4.6 is under 5%. You wouldn't really notice the change.

4.4 auto voltage llc level 4 causes blue screen
๐Ÿ™ Possibly I'll keep using 4.2 as it's the most stable option I can find

Stoneph :
4.4 auto voltage llc level 4 = blue screen
๐Ÿ™
Perhaps I'll stick with 4.2 like beforeโ€”it's the most stable option I can find.
๐Ÿ™
Actually, it's pretty unfortunate you have that poor processor.
