About eight months ago, I increased my CPU's speed to 4.4 GHz at a voltage of 1.275V, which worked well initially. However, I recently noticed the clock speed dropped to 3.8 GHz. After trying to raise it again and restarting the system, it returned to 3.8 GHz. I’m unsure why this happened and re-overclocking doesn’t seem to help. My motherboard is an Asrock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming k4/D3.

What does CPU-Z say? You should see a multiplier of 44. It’s ironic that I also have a 6600K at 4.4 GHz.

I remember from about eight months ago I increased my CPU's frequency to 4.4 GHz at 1.275V and it worked well. Recently, I noticed the clock was dropping to 3.8 GHz. After trying to raise it again, it returned to 3.8 GHz after restarting. I'm unsure why this happened and re-overclocking didn't help. My motherboard is an Asrock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming k4/D3. OP, what was the processor temperature when you checked its speed?

It's possible your battery is not holding up well. Are you also experiencing delays in your computer performance?
