Alright Hi everyone so I have a question about overclocking an I5 6600k right, I bout it so that I would be able to overclock it if I ever wanted to. I never intended to but I saw how big of an FPS difference it makes and am now curious. So, I have a GTX 950 FTW at 100 mhz oc and I believe a 400 watt power supply. The issue was I believe someone said my motherboard would blow up to quote them cuz its not made for overclocking. The mobo is a B150m, my cooler on the processor is this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...lsrc=aw.ds
Anyways, is it going to be safe for me to overclock and will I even be able to do it with the wattage I have?

The motherboard you have is incorrect for overclocking. You need a Z170 since it's not possible to achieve higher clock speeds beyond 3 to 4.

Overclocking a B150m isn't straightforward. The motherboard isn't designed for this purpose. Only certain brands can even attempt it. This type of overclock affects the RAM speed and isn't approved by Intel, which has released microcode to prevent it.

The letter K indicates it's unlocked and can be overclocked, but you'll need a motherboard that supports this and good cooling. Also, a reliable power supply is highly recommended during overclocking.
